Istiklal Street : This street connects Taksim to Tunel (underground). There are shops, cafe’s, restaurants, bars, book shops on this street which is rather crowded at any time of the day. Besides there are important landmarks such as Galatasaray High School, Galatasaray Bath, Flower Passage.

Tunel Square : The southern end of Istiklal Street at Tunnel Square is where you board the Tunnel, Beyoglu's little two-station underground train, for the ride downhill to Galata (Karakoy). Tunnel is one of the charms of Istanbul. What makes this tunnel special is that it is the second-oldest subway line in the world, after the London Underground. It is more a nostalgic flashback to the past than a common way of transportation. In this area there are numerous hotels, cafes, foreign consulates, churches, schools and hospitals.

Galata Tower : The Galata Tower which is standing in the Galata district of Istanbul and which can be seen from all over the city has been erected by the Genoeses in 1348. One of the city's most striking landmarks,it is a huge, cone-capped cylinder that dominates the skyline on the Galata side of the Golden Horn.

Asmalımescit : The small backstreet neighbourhood of Asmalimescit is home of the city's low-rent art scene, full of studios and small galleries, and a good locale for casual cafes, cheap eateries and bars. Its western boundary is Mesrutiyet Caddesi, address of the famed Pera Palas Hotel with its Orient Express associations and celebrity-filled guest book.

Flower Passage : Flower Passage, which was built in 1876, is a famous historic passage on Istiklal Avenue in Beyoglu. It has rows of historic pubs, winehouses and restaurants.

Pera Museum : Pera Museum was founded in 2005 by the Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation. Pera Museum's permanent collections include the Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation's collection of Orientalist art, which consists of more than three hundred paintings. Other notable permanent collections are Anatolian Weights and Measures and Kütahya Tiles and Ceramics.
